Changing Seasons

Autumn/Fall is officially here and this means a display of beautiful colors on trees and stepping into cooler days. There is something about autumn that I really love, it sets such a warm stage for the grey cold winter days ahead. Time to curl up in a blanket with a book and hot chaimaybe? A time of holiday glitter and cheer, a time to while away dreaming of seasons to change again :)

Beautiful Day

My weekend was busy yet nice and these beautiful Dahlias that I picked up from the local farmer's market made for a perfect end to the weekend and a great start to the week!
Have a great week :)

The festivals are here!

It's a long weekend and I am glad that it is! It's been a long week and tell me about festivals on a weekday! Here's a glimpse of what I did for "Ganesh Chaturthi". I just kept it very simple and let the natural elements speak for themselves. My husband and I made the idols from clay as a going-green thing :)

I hope all of you out there are having a great weekend and bringing in the festivities!

Yellow Mellow

A few yellow blooms sit by my kitchen sill to mellow me down after a busy start to the week.
Have a great rest of the week!

Absolutely Beautiful Things

As I was browsing today to get my dose of color and home decor high, I came across this picture on Anna Spiro's blog. Anna Spiro is an interior designer and successfully runs her own design store "Black & Spiro". She very recently launched her online shop aptly called Absolutely Beautiful Things. This image spoke to me at so many levels! The colors in it jump right at you and would sure keep away those winter greys!

Tranquility

It's Monday and I am at home (not usually the case) as am feeling a bit under the weather. So, I decided to make the best use of it and shot some frames of my apartment home. There's something tranquil about being home on a weekday. For me there's no better medicine than sipping on a cup (or a few ;-) ) of chai sitting on my couch to make me feel better!

Hope your week has started off great and if not I hope these pics cheer you up!

Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is around the corner and I am very excited about what I want to do this year. Growing up in Bombay this festival of 10 days was always so much fun! People irrespective of age, sex, caste and creed used to come together to celebrate the 'Elephant God'. I have many a fond memories of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi back home, not to forget all the delicious modaks and other goodies. Even back then it was a way to explore my creative side with the decorations :-) The image below is from last year. Do you celebrate this festival? If so, what are your plans?
